What is a thread face lift?
A thread face lift is a procedure that uses a dissolvable suture to tighten and lift your skin. This is a less invasive procedure than a surgical facelift and can be done within 45 minutes.
Polydioxanone (PDO) thread lifts make use of biodegradable polyester sutures. They are known to rejuvenate your skin and improve your appearance by lifting sagging skin. They do so by triggering fibroblasts — cells in your body — to produce more collagen.
This protein naturally found in your body gives your skin its structure and elasticity. Aging is associated with loss of collagen, which makes the skin appear as it does as you grow older.
Potential areas of thread face lift treatment
A thread lift is used to treat most parts of your face that have visible signs of aging. In most cases, areas around your neck, cheeks, jaw, and eyes are the most commonly treated areas of a thread face lift in Dubai.

Your surgeon will ask you to avoid alcohol or tobacco smoking at least a week before the procedure. You’ll also be asked to stay away from certain drugs that may increase the risk of bleeding or bruising, such as Aspirin.
The exact procedure your surgeon follows during your thread face lift varies, and it will mostly depend on what you want to achieve. Ideally, local anesthesia is used before the surgeon makes a tiny incision, where a small tube called a cannula is inserted.
Afterward, the surgeon anchors the threads in place before pulling out the cannula. Once they have ensured that the thread is in place, it is cut, and that’s it!
You will be free to go home shortly after the procedure.
Thread face lift recovery.
There’s a very short recovery period for a thread face lift. Ideally, you may experience localized bruising and swelling for the first 24 – 48 hours. However, you will be free to carry out most of your daily routines.
You will be given some aftercare instructions to enable you to experience a smooth recovery process. This includes, among others, not rubbing your face to avoid dislodging the threads. Moreover, you’ll also likely be advised not to smoke, drink alcohol, or purse your lips.
